I came to Chambersburg when I was 13 years old to live with my grandmother due to some unfortunate circumstances, as a kid I could go fishing and no matter how bad things were it didn’t seem to matter sitting on the banks of a creek.

Now a days I take my daughter down to the creek to fish and catch critters but what I noticed was how much garbage was in the creeks, enough I didn’t want her getting in there, It wasn’t how it used to be and it saddened me greatly I went to several different spots and the same thing “More Trash” so I questioned why our creeks are not being cleaned up.

There are many things in this world I would like to change but it’s unlikely I could have any impact on much of it, getting the trash out of the creeks of Franklin County is something I can do and will have a positive impact on the whole community so that’s why I am doing it.

I  joined ccp because they actually walk the walk and talk the talk.

It's not just picking up cans and small trash along the banks, they find things that have been in the creek for decades.

I've fished the creeks, swam the creeks and enjoy them, but this is bigger than that. This is about making sure that we have use of them for many years to come.

The creeks flow into streams and rivers, which flow into the ocean,  so this is serving much more than the community. Its benefiting the world and our generation and generations to come.

I joined CCP because keeping our waters clean, it is something that has always been important to me.

There’s nothing better than getting out there and helping firsthand.
